Mr John Terrace is a Consultant Transplant Surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. He
undertook training in general surgery and abdominal multi-organ transplantation in Edinburgh
completing this with a senior fellowship in transplantation at Guy’s Hospital, London. Mr Terrace’s
main transplant practice is in renal and pancreas transplantation with a specialist interest in living
kidney donation. He completed a PhD in liver stem cell biology with the University of Edinburgh and
is actively involved in the development of novel technologies in organ retrieval including abdominal
in-situ normothermic regional perfusion and ex-vivo normothermic renal perfusion.
Married with a 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter, there is little time for other interests but where
possible Mr Terrace plays golf, enjoys rugby and spends time with his beloved Vizsla, Bronte.
